Overview

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana provides free foodgrains to 81.35 crore NFSA beneficiaries (two-thirds population). Launched during COVID, extended 5 years till 2028 costing ₹11.8 lakh crore. 5kg rice/wheat per person + 1kg dal per family monthly distributed through 5.4 lakh FPS. Quality fortified rice prevents malnutrition. One Nation One Ration Card enables portability across 34 states. DBT integration for Aadhaar seeding.

Process & Guidelines

Step 1: Get NFSA ration card from food dept

Step 2: Seed Aadhaar to ration card

Step 3: Visit any Fair Price Shop

Step 4: Show e-ration card/fingerprint

Step 5: Collect 5kg/person + 1kg dal free

Step 6: Portability via ONORC anywhere
